Good time on Keuka ice, but am ready to fish from a boat

Sitting here watching the forecasts on another snow storm , but even more depressing is the return to single digit temperatures.  We spent Saturday and Sunday on the ice again at Shu's.  The perch bite seems to be better in the early morning and the trout bite better in the afternoon.

Jake enjoying partridge
This past Saturday I was blessed to have both Jake and Jessica joining me on the ice.  Jake returned for a week from Norwich.  Our friend Dave came down to join us and treated us to two fabulous meals.  The first was a venison Philly steak sandwich that was incredible.  For dinner he whipped up a rabbit and partridge dish that was the finest fowl dishes I have ever had.

The ice was 8 inches thick but it was really moaning and groaning.  The ice was also heaving up on the shore and we could see the damage occurring to people's property.  It appears as though folks pulled their docks out but not far enough from the shore as the ice was reaching them.

This trip we finally got into some good sized perch.  Hopefully this will be the trend!!!!
