From the ice to the dutch oven

Lake Trout Chowder
Hannah & Dave drilling ice holes
We enjoyed another Saturday on Keuka Lake ice fishing.  Tonight I made fish chowder from a Hank Shaw recipe, author of Hunt, Gather, Cook and used the trout.  It was great.  This is not a thick chowder as it is light on the cream, but I
used the bones et. al. to make a true fish stock as the base of the chowder. YUMMY!  This week calls for another polar vortex so the ice will continue to grow making for another fun upcoming weekend on the ice :-)

Unique tip-up I use that bobs with the wind thereby bouncing the jig. Courtesy Grandpa Morton
