Getting ready for opening day

We had fun archery season and prepping for gun season.  Yesterday Dave, Scott, Edd, and Adam sighted in our guns at Adam's backyard shooting range.  I put the first two in the bulls-eye shooting my blackpowder Thompson Omega .50 and a third bulls-eye with the kids 20 gauge.  Hannah and Jessica joined us and took a few shots with the 20 gauge.  They were awesome, each coming an inch of the bullseye....I will feel better about them going to the prom now...

Afterwards we all up to my garage where JP and Mark joined us with an 8 pt that JP had shot in the morning.  We spent the evening cutting up the deer and cooking fresh back strap on the komado grill...it was like heaven!

Friday Jake and I went out to the Hedges farm to fix some stands and cut shooting lanes. Just as we finished we saw our first snow flakes for the year, but fortunately they did not stick. That evening while bow hunting I got the cartoon below from a friend....too funny as it totally captures what I would call a quality "tree stand".
