Ontario fishing...Finger Lakes fishing....Bow seaon

Lake Nettogami

There is a fire in the fireplace and the sunrise is illuminating the crisp fall color outside my window. Ironically I opted to sleep in this AM after spending most of yesterday bow hunting and now as I write I am watching 2 8pt bucks outback heading towards my tree-stand. I have to laugh as I am in violation of my own number one rule of deer hunting....."You won't get a deer unless your in the woods!"

I intend to bring this blog up to date on our fishing adventures since May 2011. Let's start with Lake Nettogami June/July and our 8th Air Cochrane fishing trip. This was a trip was a very typical northern Ontario summer fishing trip. Temperatures varied between 45-75 with several fronts moving through the area.
Jake 40" pike, July 1 2011

We caught several hundred walleye with Jake catching a 40" pike and Josh catching a 36" pike....as always Fish Tek spinner baits carried the day. This year I fished with an ultralight rod and jigged for walleye on 4 pound test....it was a blast.
Ben with a nice walleye

There had been a terrible storm last year that blew down a ton of trees that made the walk to "Lost Lake" impassible.
Trail to Lost Lake

After the great luck from last year and finding the large schools of whitefish on this lake we were disappointed not being able to get over there. The very first day Dan and Rob portaged a boat across a beaver dam to a neighboring lake (pond) and caught a lot of small walleye.
Shore lunch on the peninsula

This year's highlights included Uncle Shu's run in with the "FOPP" while chasing a white mini-van, his obsession with cooking with flames both on shore and on the grill. A couple baseball games on the island. Shore lunches and swimming off the peninsula. Uncle Rob's dive in the lake after a rod that went in.

Below are some video clips from our trip.
