Day deer season

Well it is halftime of the 2nd day of the season. I am watching the Bills lose to Miami but am enjoyoing Hannah's piano playing in the background.

A wild couple of days. Yesterday I went out to the same spot I have started opening day for the past 16 years which is out in Bloomfield. I saw a bunch of does and some small bucks. Walking out to the gas line I saw a nice 10 point buck about 200 yards away. 20 minutes later I was walking out to the edge of a corn field where I saw a gigantic deer run acroos with two doe. I really thought it might have been a mule deer it was so big. I went up to a ridge and sat on a bucket where I watched bucks busy chasing does and I probably would have shot one, but I had visions of a bigger deer for the season, so I passed.

On the way home I got a text from my friend Scott who said he had shot one on the property we lease across the street. So I went and helped him find it, gut it, and hang it.

This morning I went out to Bloomfield again. Passed ona three bucks that were too small. Brud shot a 7 point that had been wounded. Later I determined it was a deer I had seen the previous day while siting on the bucket. I helped him clean this deer up.

I also took done a web cam near this bucket that Jake and I had put up for a week. Below are the photos;
