200+ Perch on Lake Chautauqua

Ice Castle weekend proved to be a lot of fun last weekend in Mayville. On Sunday Jake, Jon and I set up a Clam shelter about 100 yards off the train depot in Mayville, adjacent to the Ice Castle, in about 6 feet of water and caught a pile of perch.

The next day we went out to Dewittville Bay where the weather was awesome, bright, sunny and about 40 degrees. Jimmy, Hannah, Jim Livak, and I caught at least 200 perch...the fish fry afterwards was fantastic. I cooked them up using a simple recipe of Snyders butter snaps, crushed, roll fillets in eggs, and fry....yum-yum.....here we fished in 8 feet of water. We learned later that the fisherman who were 1/2-1 mile out were fishing for walleye.

The above I took experimenting with a Flip video camera and Power Director 7 software.
