Good day of perch fishing-Seneca Lake

What a day....Jake, Dave, and I were planning to go fishing today for the past 2 weeks. We had been planning all along to go ice fishing on Irondequoit Bay, but the reports on iceshanty.com were not very promising. The ice reports were bad and the lightweights on the ice said dinks were abound. Dink fishing is no fun. Call me spoiled, but when our neighbor Dave asked me years ago to go perch fishing I was not very excited because perch fishing on Chautauqua Lake meant catching a lot of 4-6" fish...BORING...When Dave told me we were fishing for perch 12-18" I thought he was dreaming...fast forward 10 years....there ain't a perch going in our bucket that is not at least 12". Well today was no different, we went to Seneca Lake with a 5mh SE wind and headed out with fresh minnows from the Outdoor Store in Bloomfield....the BEST place to buy minnows in the Finger Lakes. Everybody was in 25-30' of water and the reports said 30-40' of water....we caught 70-90 perch in 12' feet of water. We only kept perch that was 12" or longer and we had a total of exactly 50 perch after 3 hours of fishing. A great day and a lot of fun.....dinner was fantastic tonight!
