Jake has a great outing for geese and ducks
On the last day of geese/duck season Jake went out with two buddies across the road chasing geese & ducks. They got up at 3:00 AM and spent two hours setting up decoys and ground blinds amongst the flooded corn field. At first light we, and all the neighbors, were awakened to lots of gunfire in the distance. Tracy and I drove by on our way to church. We parked at the top of the drive overlooking the flooded cornfield. We watched three ducks slowly fly down towards the pond. Just before they landed a flurry of gunshots rang out and we watched the birds fly away unscathed. We laughed all the way to Church.
The boys did all right. That night we enjoyed an incredible goose dinner grilled with a soy and brown sugar marinade.
