Honeoye Lake Crappie Fishing

Today was our first crack at the crappie fishing on Honeoye Lake. Last year my notes showed that we had our banner days at the end of March. Dan Sharp at Honeoye Lake Bait & Tackle gave us some great tips.

This AM we started at 9:30 because it was such a cold night. Beautiful day, north wind about 5 mph, and there was nobody at the north ramp. We went to the south end and there were a total of five boats. The warmest water we found was 44.2 degrees. Nobody appeared to be catching any...we left at 1:00 without a bite, but will try again Friday.

Later on today I had a buddy tell me that his friend caught 50+ crappie and perch on the south end of Keuka Lake!!!

Whooeeee! You have WAY too much time on your hands. I couldn't post a blog if my life depended on it! We sure enjoyed the pix. If I had any computer skills, whatsoever, I would blog some pix from Myrtle Beach....which was CONSIDERABLY warmer than the temperatures we encountered upon our arrival in Fairport this morning!!
